Houston, Texas – January 20, 2012
Allied Power Group was a proud sponsor of The Hide Party held January 13, 2012, a social event that honors the donors who purchased steer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2011.
Since its beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed approximately $230 million to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants and other educational youth programs.
“As a member of the Steer Auction committee, we’re proud to put on the largest fundraiser at the Livestock Show and Rodeo each year,” said Keith Marler, President of Allied Power Group. “In 2011, the Steer Auction raised over $3.5 million for the organization. APG is a proud sponsor of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and we look forward to this year’s events getting underway in February.”
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes to encourage and promote the breeding, raising and marketing of better livestock and farm products at public fairs and to promote and maintain research and educational functions within the livestock industry. The Steer Auction Committee is responsible for pre-selling all winning steer at a floor price above current market prices.
