These types of increases can range from simple controls modifications to coating, cooling, and material changes. Reductions in the loss of air on a unit can have a positive impact not only on the efficiency but also output. APG has many options for sealing modifications including seal clearance reductions, brush seals, honeycomb Seals, cloth Side Seals, and abradable coatings
APG can support power augmentation modifications including but not limited to evaporative cooling, inlet chillers, compressor fogging, and water/steam injection systems.
Coatings (HDTBC costing)

Turbine section coatings typically allow for the reduction of surface metal temperatures and the impact of oxidation on the parts.
7FA – The 7FA compressor has many know issue. APG is well positioned to support all applicable OEM technical recommendations includingthe standard package upgrades up to package 5. We also have a robust shim elimination program. We can supply and install our own shrouded S17 that is an upgrade to the OEM supplied solution.
7EA – APG has a comprehensive industry leading solution to the 7EA compressor issues including clashing, stator shim elimination, case slippage, stator vane rock, blade tip rock, spacer migration, R17 replacement, and a complete line of compressor rotor shop support capabilities.
Siemens/Westinghouse – APG has extensive experience on modification and repairs of the Siemens/Westinghouseframe compressor.
There are many opportunities on older frame units to increase reliability with instrumentation upgrades to a unit. This can include bearing metal thermocouple, vibration systems, thermocouple upgrades to allow for replacement without disassembly, flux probs and bus couplers, and changes from switches and gauges to transmitters to namea few.
